The Garden Room

2 August 2025 We had afternoon tea. What can I say? It was absolutely beautiful!!! The array of food incorporated in the afternoon tea was both delicious and varied. The presentation was exceptional especially the vegetable soup served in a teacup. The food was very fresh and had great attention to detail. The presentation of the afternoon tea using a beautiful vintage teaset was lovely gold cutlery and cakestandsgsrden centre. as was the actual place we had the afternoon tea. It overlooked the beautiful garden and garden centre. The lady who served us explained what everything was and was very attentive even though the main restaurant was very busy she kept coming to check if everything was ok offering us more tea and coffee. We could not finish the food so she offered us a box to take it home in. Service was exceptional. We would definitely recommend.

The Garden Room is wonderful. The food in is fresh and full of flavour. Customer service is top notch. Decor clean and charming. The peacock often greets guests and is a star. Nearby Alpacas and rare bred pigs are an additional attraction.

Lovely place to eat. Simple bowl of soup but great treacle bread. Nice to wonder around the gardens afterwards.

I went here for a late breakfast ( after a fruitless search for aquatic plants ). The staff were friendly and polite. I ordered the avocado on toast. It was delicious, really good , nicely presented and 2 slices of toast . The lattes were very good too. I did have to ask twice to get the 2nd coffee, but by this point they had become quite busy with the early lunchers. I did notice that the other breakfast choices also looked quite delicious. I will certainly eat there again.

First class vegan and vegetarian breakfasts at The Garden Room. Food was delicious and met completely dietary requirements. ( even vegan sausages). Service wonderful and accurate! Cleanliness was awesome - as always! Atmosphere peaceful and restful. Johnny ensures end to end service that delights the customer. We would love to see this now expand to gluten and dairy free cakes! Coffee is superb. Katie did great on first day. Thank you service excellence at every level for breakfast. We will be back.

It was absolutely the best breakfast we've ever had. Period. Coffee was excellent, but cakes weren't great except the lemon tart, which was really good. The service was brilliant and the staff were super accommodating despite it being really busy when we visited. Beautiful setting in a lush garden. Will definitely come again when we're in the area.

We called in on a Sunday afternoon for tea and a bun. The Garden Room is lovely - nice location, pretty inside, friendly professional staff (and peacocks)! I had a generous crunchie Rocky Road, and my partner had a rich and tasty Chocolate Orange Tart. Well recommended.

Such a lovely place. Johnny and the team were very helpful in accommodating our large group, and worked hard to make sure everything went smoothly. There is a great private space upstairs, which is very comfortable. And the food is delicious! Would highly recommend for individuals as well as tours in the area!
